Freestanding courses

The Department of Modern Languages offers more than 150 freestanding courses in 16 languages. We have first cycle, second cycle and third cycle courses. For several of our languages, there are full-time as well as part-time study courses, and also shorter courses.

You need to meet the entry requirements from the upper secondary school or pass a language eligibility test to study French, German or Spanish at the first cycle level (In Swedish). You can also take an introductory course. No prior knowledge is required for the other freestanding first cycle courses.

Several courses are offered as distance learning courses, that can be studied from anywhere in the world.

Please note that only a limited number of courses are offered in English.
